Operating a color copier is a very useful skill for the office.

Color copy machines are used on a daily basis in many offices, schools and other places of business to efficiently produce numerous copies of needed documents and fliers. For those who do not frequently use a color copier and are not familiar with how to use one, the process can easily be done with the following of a few simple steps. Each color copier may vary slightly, but the steps to follow will remain the same.

Instructions

    • 1

Take the document you wish to copy and place it face down on the glass surface of the copy machine.

    • 2

To ensure the copier is working correctly and is filled with sufficient ink, run a test copy. Change ink cartridges if the test copy seems faded or choppy.

    • 3

Indicate the number of copies you wish to produce and adjust the color setting to the desired look.

    • 4

Depending on the specific color copy machine, the button to initiate copying will be labeled differently. Typically it will say "Copy," "Print" or "Start." Press the button, and copying will begin.

    • 5

Check the copies to make sure that each copy was printed correctly. Repeat the process for all other color copies needed.
