How to Open the Staple Cartridge on a Ricoh 6000 Copier

A multifunction copy machine is a useful tool for almost any business.

The Ricoh MP 6000 copier provides you with the technology you need to keep your business running smoothly. The device is more than just a copier; it also handles scanning and printing, and functions as a fax machine. The MP 6000 includes a staple finisher, letting you organize your documents so you don't lose a page. If the machine runs out of staples, you need to remove the staple cartridge if you want to replace them.

Instructions

1. Pull open the finisher door, located on the front of the MP 6000 copier. If you can't access the stapler unit directly from here, pull out the internal finisher tray.

2. Remove the staple cartridge, attached to the bottom of the finisher tray, by carefully pulling on the green end of the unit.

3. Hold both sides of the staple cartridge, and then pull the upper unit up. This opens the cartridge, allowing you to change the case. Take the empty case out of the cartridge.

4. Slide the refill case into the cartridge slot. When the refill is in place, push the upper unit back down to lock it in place.

5. Pull on the refill case's plastic ribbon to remove it. Push the cartridge back into the slot in the finisher. Close the finisher cover.
