How to Design an HTML Email on Outlook

How to Design an HTML Email on Outlook thumbnail
Outlook requires you turn on HTML before you begin typing code.

Microsoft Outlook email platforms allow you to send emails using HTML coding. Before you start typing "<a href>" and "<img src>" though, you have to turn on the HTML feature. Otherwise, your message will just deliver the code as regular text and your recipient will have a tough time deciphering your message amidst all the angle brackets.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open Microsoft Outlook.

    • 2

Select "Tools" from the "Options" menu.

    • 3

      Click the "Mail Format" tab.

    • 4

Click the drop-down box next to "Compose in this message format," and select "HTML."

    • 5

      Click "OK."

    • 6

Click "Compose." From now on, all emails will be in HTML format. If you do not enter any HTML code, though, emails will just display the text as normal.
