How Can I Download Music From the Internet to My Windows Media Player?
If you purchase music or share free music with others, you can use your browser to download the music from a website to your hard drive. The songs stored on your hard drive can be added to the Windows Media Player playlist. The songs you download must be purchased or distributed as free by the songs' owners.

Click the Windows "Start" button. Click "All Programs," then click the shortcut to your Web browser. After the browser opens, type the location where the songs are hosted in the address text box.

Click the songs you want to download, and choose a location on your hard drive to save the song. For instance, save the song to "C:\mp3" on your hard drive. This creates a directory for all of the songs that you want to play on Media Player.

Click the Windows "Start" button, and select "All Programs." Click "Media Player" to open the software. Click the "Library" tab to view your currently added music.

Click the "Add to Library" button. In the list of options, click "Browse." Double-click the directory that contains your downloaded music. For instance, if you store music in "C:\mp3," double-click this directory to add all of your downloaded music at once.

Double-click the song in your playlist. The song plays so that you can test its quality.
