How to Terminate a Page in Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla's Firefox Web browser is available for both the Mac OS X and Windows operating systems and lets you browse Web pages in either separate tabs or completely separate windows. Depending on how you are viewing a page, terminating the page is a slightly different process. In each case, however, it can be done in a few simple steps.

Instructions

  1. Terminating a Window

      Click the "X" on the right-hand side of the Firefox address bar to stop the page loading process if the page is still loading.

      Click the red "X" icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Firefox Web browser window if you are using a Windows computer to terminate the page in the window.

      Click the "X" icon in the upper left-hand corner of the Firefox application window if you are using a Mac computer to terminate the page in the window.

    Terminating a Tab

      Click on the tab that you want to terminate. Click the "X" on the right-hand side of the Firefox address bar to stop the page loading process if the page is still loading.

      Move your mouse cursor over the tab you want to delete and click the red "X" that appears on the right side of the tab if you are using a Windows computer to terminate the page in the tab.

      Move your mouse cursor over the tab you want to delete and click the gray "X" that appears on the right side of the tab if you are using a Mac computer to terminate the page in the tab.
