Instructions

    • 1

Mix the citric acid and baking soda together in a large bowl until well blended.

    • 2

Spray water from the spray bottle into the mixture. Mix with your hands and add a little more water. Use one or two sprays at a time until your mixture clumps when you ball it up in your hands. Do not use too much water or the bath ball may begin fizzing.

    • 3

Pack the shape mold with the mixture. You can also shape the mixture into balls with your hands. Tightly packed mixtures will result in stronger and more powerful reactions, so you should pack it for maximum effect. Un-mold the bath fizz ball, set it on a cookie sheet and allow it to thoroughly dry.

    • 4

Wrap your fizz balls for decoration. Placing the the bath balls in a red, blue or pink cellophane and tying them with a decorative ribbon adds style. You may want to place a water-tight container near your bath to hold the fizz balls for ease of access during bath time.

Tips & Warnings

  • To add color, mix in five to 20 drops of food coloring. Five drops will only add color to the bath fizz ball. More will fill the tub with color when the bomb is dropped into the tub.

  • Add 1 teaspoon of fragrance oil to lightly scent the water.

  • Plastic is not the best choice for a mold. It can become damaged, causing difficulty in removing the product without wrecking it. Stainless steel molds are more durable and are a worthwhile investment if you make a lot of bath fizz balls.

  • Do not store the fizz balls until they are completely dry, otherwise they will retain moisture and ruin.

  • Store the bath fizz balls in an airtight container.
