Photoshop by Adobe is a program used by professional and amateur photographers to fix pictures. The program is very extensive and provides hundreds of options to alter the appearance of images. When you first open your photograph in Adobe Photoshop, there are few steps to complete to initially fix your picture and make it print-ready. Once the initial steps are completed, you can further enhance your photograph using the program's vast editing options.

      Open Adobe Photoshop on your computer. Click "File" and select "Get photo" from the drop-down menu. Select the picture you want to edit from the folder and click "OK" in the bottom, right of the screen to open the picture.

      Click "Enhance" in the navigation bar and select "Curves" from the drop-down menu. This will open a smaller window on your desktop that looks like a line graph. Click on the line with your computer mouse. As you move the mouse in one direction or the other, it will adjust the exposure of the picture. Release the mouse button and the program will automatically adjust the picture.

      Click "Enhance" and select the "Contrast/Brightness" option. Hold the tab on the slider and adjust the slider to increase or decrease the amount of contrast you want to add or remove from the picture.

      Click the icon in the left margin that looks like a band-aid. This is the "Spot healing tool." It will remove dust spots and other imperfections that appear in your photo. Adjust the size of tool's cursor, position the computer mouse over the dust spot that you want to remove, click the mouse and Photoshop will remove the dust spot and replace the site with similar colored pixels from the surrounding area.

      Click "File" and select "Save as" give your photo a name and save it to your computer's hard drive.
