How to Install RAM on a Sony Vaio Vgn Z590 Laptop
The Sony Vaio VGN Z590 is a laptop computer that comes with electronic components Sony is known for, such as high-tech speakers and a sleek LCD display. Like any other laptop, it requires RAM to operate. This memory is accessed via a compartment on the underside of the computer. That means you don't need a technician remove and replace RAM for you.

Turn off your Vaio VGN Z590 and remove the AC power cable.

Close the display screen, turn the unit upside down and unplug the battery pack from its port on the underside of the computer. Notice the upgrade compartments on the bottom of the computer. The square-shaped compartment in the center of the computer is the memory compartment. The cover is held in place with a single screw.

Remove the captive screw holding the memory compartment in place and lift it up to expose a rectangular-shaped DDR2 memory module.

Pull the tabs at the ends of the module outward and the module will pop up. Remove it and set it aside.

Fit a new memory module in the old one's place and press it gently down until it locks in place.

Replace the compartment cover and screw.
