How to Design Your Uggs

Many Ugg boots come in a solid color. You can add some spice to your bland Uggs by applying your own design to the fabric. Before painting your Ugg boots, practice painting on a old pair of suede shoes, or another piece of clothing that you don't want. This will help you become comfortable with applying the paint on a surface, and to ensure you have acquired the skills to paint your own Uggs.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the fabric paints over and store upside down. This will help move any air in the paint to the bottom of the bottle.

    • 2

Dampen a rag with water and use it to wipe away any dust and debris from your Uggs. Allow your Uggs to dry completely.

    • 3

Draw the design you want to paint on the Ugg on a piece of paper. Try to keep the lines of the design simple.

    • 4

Create a stencil by cutting out the lines of the design with the blade of an exacto knife or scissors.

    • 5

Press the piece of paper against the Ugg boot in the exact place you want the design.

    • 6

Trace the design onto the boot through the stencil with a pencil, pen or white eyeliner (if your boot is dark).

    • 7

Remove the stencil from the boot.

    • 8

Tap the fabric paint bottle and squeeze a small amount of paint on a separate piece of paper or newspaper to remove any air. Wipe the tip of the fabric paint clean with a rag.

    • 9

Hold the fabric paint bottle in your hand like a pencil. Place the tip of the applicator against the fabric and squeeze out the paint. Drag the tip along the surface to saturate the fibers of the boot. Allow the paint to dry for at least 72 hours before wearing the boot.
