If you are out int he dating world but still want to remain chaste, you will need to make sure your personal boundaries are established and remain intact. Whether your choice for maintaining chastity is religious or emotional makes no difference when it comes to setting your boundaries and ensuring that they are not breached. Boundaries not only help to prevent others from going too far, but they also aid you in your quest to remain abstinent by not putting you in tempting situations.

1. Establish internally what you want your boundaries to be before engaging in dating or beginning a relationship. Make sure that you know where your personal lines are drawn and whether you're willing to be flexible on any of those lines.

2. Communicate the boundaries you have established with your date or partner. Through communication, you can make your desires clear and avoid future misunderstandings or conflicts. You should have this discussion very early on in a dating or relationship scenario.

3. Control your behavior and body language. It's vital that you not only tell your date or partner what your boundaries are, but you must demonstrate them through your behavior as well to avoid mixed messages and confusion.

4. Say no when your boundaries are challenged. If your date or partner asks to move beyond the boundaries that you set, refuse to do so. This does not mean that the boundaries cannot ever change, but you need constant and honest communication.

5. Leave a relationship or stop seeing a dating partner if that person does not respect the boundaries you set. Do not allow yourself to be pressured into doing anything that you do not want to do.
