Installing Yahoo Bookmarks

Yahoo! Bookmarks is a service that allows Yahoo! members to bookmark their favorite websites and access them from any computer that has an Internet connection. Each time you add a website to your Yahoo! Bookmarks account, the URL is saved online. Since Yahoo! Bookmarks is an online service, you can't install it on your computer. If you want to access your bookmarks from your computer's Web browser, however, you can install Yahoo! Toolbar. Yahoo! Toolbar provides you with a quick access button to easily browse, update and visit your stored bookmarks.

  • Download and install the latest version of Yahoo! Toolbar. When you're installing the toolbar, you will be asked to restart your Web browser to complete the process. Restart your web browser.

  • Click the "Bookmarks" button, which is located in the Yahoo! Toolbar section of your Web browser.

  • Sign in to your Yahoo! account by entering your Yahoo! ID and password. After signing in to your account, the Yahoo! Bookmarks page will open.

  • Click the "Create Folder" link, which is located in the "My Folders" section on the left side of the page. You can create multiple folders to organize your bookmarks.

  • Enter a name for your new folder and select the "My Bookmarks" option in the "Place Under" drop-down menu. Click the "Save Changes" button to save your new bookmarks folder.

  • Click the "Add" button to begin adding new bookmarks.

  • Enter the website's URL address, as well as a title for your bookmark. Click the drop-down menu and select a destination folder for your bookmarked Web page. You also have the option to enter a brief description.

  • Click the "Save" button to save your new bookmark. After saving your bookmark, you can access it from your Yahoo! Toolbar. You can also access your saved bookmarks from a different computer by logging in to your Yahoo! account online.
