Instructions

    • 1

Stack your hula hoops on top of each other and secure them by wrapping duct tape around them in three or four places to form your "ring."

    • 2

Wrap the ring with aluminum foil, shiny side out, to create the look of a silver or platinum ring. Use the dull side of the foil to create a ring with a pewter look. Secure the foil with clear tape on the inside of the ring.

    • 3

Cover several paper plates with colored cellophane or plastic wrap to create "jewels." Tape cellophane or plastic wrap to secure it on the plates. Attach each jewel to the ring with duct tape.

    • 4

Wear a flesh-colored leotard and tights to make your body look like a finger for the ring to rest on.

    • 5

Place the ring over your head and allow it to rest on one shoulder and your opposite hip. Alternatively, cut several lengths of fishing line and tie them to either side of the ring. Loop the fishing line over your shoulders to allow the ring to rest around your waist in a horizontal position just as a ring would on a finger.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use a large paper plate covered in clear cellophane to create a "diamond" for an engagement ring costume.
