How to Check PlayStation 3 to PC Firmware

Turn on your PlayStation 3 console without a game inserted. If a game is inserted, eject it (using the button on the front of the console) to load the main menu.

Open your PS3 console's "Settings" icon.

Choose the "System Update" icon.

Select the "Update via Internet" option. The PlayStation 3 will check to see if firmware updates are available. If they are, the updates will be downloaded automatically to the console and installed.
