How to Hook Up Processors to Motherboards
Before you mount a motherboard into a computer, and after you have installed the memory on it, you must mount the processor. The processor on the motherboard interprets instructions from input devices, and sends them to other devices that require those instructions executed. When you press a key on your keyboard, for example, the processor interprets the input and sends a signal for the letter you pressed to show up on your screen.
