How to Make it So That People Can't Comment on Your Facebook Videos

Facebook facilitates communication and interaction between you and other users you designated as friends, be it via public posts to the "News Feed" or someone else's wall, private, personal messages or comments you leave on pictures and other media. The site also has multiple privacy controls you activate in the event you want to limit access to your information or uploads. Prevent others from commenting on items you post -- including videos -- using a privacy control.

  • Log in to Facebook. Click "Privacy Settings" in the "Account" drop-down menu, which is located at the top of the page on its far-right side.

  • Click "Customize Settings" at the bottom of the page. Scroll down to the "Things Others Share" section and open the "Permission to Comment On Your Posts" -- which includes video uploads -- drop-down menu. Click "Customize."

  • Click the arrow next to "Friends Only" and select "Only Me" from the drop-down menu. Click "Save Setting." Until you change your settings back to the way they were, no other users are able to comment on your videos -- or other posts.
