Americans consume 50 percent of the world's coffee. Drinking at morning, noon and night, citizens young and old enjoy the fresh flavors and burst of warm energy that coffee provides. Beginning in the 1700s, coffee was consumed on a regular basis in taverns and coffee shops. Visit your favorite coffee shop and examine prepackaged coffee products. Dunkin' Donuts, for example, sells prepackaged coffee by the pound. Select from an assortment of flavors -- traditional, hazelnut, French vanilla, for example -- and whether a whole bean or auto drip product suit your liking. Convert poundage by remembering that there are 16 ounces for every one pound.

Log online. Visit the Caffe D'arte webpage, for example, or your favorite coffee vendor website. Scroll to the "Online Ordering" tab in the main menu. Click on the "Order Coffee Online" tab. Scroll down to the "Selection #1" tab. Explore the provided list of standard and gourmet coffees. Make your selection. Choose your grind preference -- either whole bean or auto drip -- and click the "Add to Cart" tab. Follow continued instructions to pay online. Note any shipping requirements -- a minimum of two pounds per order, for example -- before completing your purchase.
