How to Find the RSS Address for Your Blog

The vast majority of blogs have a feature called Really Simple Syndication, which allows other websites to syndicate the blog's content onto their own websites. As the blog adds new content, the syndicated content on other sites automatically updates as well. RSS is also a way in which many Internet users keep up with new content posted to their favorite sites in special applications called RSS readers. To syndicate content into an RSS reader or onto another site, you need to locate the URL of your site's syndication feed, in the form of a website address. There are several ways to quickly locate this URL on your blog.

Instructions

    • 1

Copy the link from the RSS link on your blog. Sites with RSS feeds often link them with a hyperlink that identifies it as an RSS or a feed. Alternatively, the link may mention "subscribing" to the blog or feed. Right-click on the link and click the "Copy Shortcut" option to copy the RSS feed's URL to your clipboard.

Copy the link from the RSS button. Your blog's template may have a pre-formatted RSS button which links to your feed's URL. Typically, this is an image bearing the RSS logo, which is an orange square with a white dot in the lower left corner and two curved lines above it. Alternatively, the image may just be an orange rectangle with "RSS" in white. Right-click the image and click "Copy Shortcut" to save your feed's Web address to your clipboard.

Click the RSS logo in the browser. In Internet Explorer, this is a small button located next to the "Home" button in the tab bar. Clicking on this opens the RSS feed's Web address for your blog. The RSS address will be in the address field of your browser.
