How to Add Affiliate Codes to Amazon
Amazon's sales-affiliate program, known as Amazon Associates, is one of the largest such programs operating online. It pays you for every sale you refer. Amazon allows almost anyone to get started quickly as an affiliate, and gives affiliates a wide variety of products to promote through the program. Register for an affiliate account in just a few minutes and then easily add your affiliate code to any product that's sold through the Amazon marketplace.

Access the Amazon website (see Resources).

Find the link marked "Sign in" at the top of the page, located to the right of the Amazon.com logo. Click on the link to sign in to your Amazon customer account.

Search for a product to which you want to add your affiliate code. In the search box at the top of the page, type in the product's name or a keyword phrase related to a product you're looking for, such as "coffee maker with grinder" or "T-shirts for kids." Press the circular button marked "Go" to the right of the search box to search for the product.

Access the sales page of the product you're looking for by clicking on the product's image or name from the list of search results that Amazon displays to you.

Locate the dark gray toolbar at the top of the product's sales page, directly above the Amazon.com logo. Select the "Link to this page" button found on the left side of the toolbar. Wait for a box marked "Customize and Get HTML" to appear on the screen.

Find the two tabs marked "Text and Image" and "Text Only," located directly underneath the "Customize and Get HTML" text. Click on the tab marked "Text Only" and wait for three boxes to appear -- one labeled "1. Customize Link," another labeled "2. Preview" and a third (directly under the first two) labeled "3. Get HTML Code for This Product Link."

Click "3. Get HTML Code for This Product Link." Find the block of text that begins with the characters "<a href=". Immediately after these characters is a URL that begins with the characters "http://www.amazon.com". Select the entire URL and copy it to your clipboard. This URL is a link to the sales page of the product you accessed and has your affiliate code embedded within it.

Tips & Warnings
For you to successfully add affiliate codes to products accessed through Amazon, you must have an Amazon Associates account and be on the Amazon Associates site. Register for one (see Resources) if you have not already done so.
The gray Amazon Associates toolbar appears at the top of every product page you visit on Amazon, if you are signed in to your Amazon Associates-linked customer account.
