How to Put an iTunes Song Into Powerpoint

PowerPoint presentations don't have to be monotonous displays of text, slide after slide. Keep your audience engaged by inserting media into the presentation. Music files can play directly from a slide in PowerPoint -- they take up only a small amount of space on the screen and can be placed adjacent to text or images. Use files from your iTunes library, so long as you know where to locate the music on your hard drive.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the PowerPoint presentation and click on the "Slides" tab in the left sidebar. Click on the slide that you want to add an iTunes song to.

    • 2

Click on the "Insert" tab and select the "Audio" icon in the "Media" group.

    • 3

Select "Audio from File." In the new window that opens, navigate to the folder on your hard drive that contains your iTunes files.

    • 4

Click once on the file to select it and then click "OK." Alternatively, double-click the name of the song file to select it.

    • 5

Select either "Automatically" or "When Clicked" from the pop-up window to determine how the music file starts. If you choose an automatic start, the music will begin to play each time the slide is opened.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are using PowerPoint 2007, the process remains the same, but the word "Audio" in the PowerPoint toolbar is replaced by "Sound."
