How to Get More Fonts for Microsoft Word in Window Vista
If you want to create an attractive and attention-grabbing document in Microsoft Word, then you might need a wider choice of fonts than those available from the program's font menu. Microsoft Word accesses the font library on your personal computer, so any pre-installed or new font on your PC is also available to the program. Download a selection of free or paid fonts, and install them on your computer to extend font choice in Microsoft Word and other productivity and graphics software.
Instructions
-
-
1
Launch the computer's Web browser.
-
2
Navigate to your preferred font download website. Most font websites offer a range of paid fonts, free fonts and custom fonts.
-
-
3
Read through the list of fonts. Font-download websites usually list available fonts by theme, style or font name.
-
4
Double-click the download icon or link next to the font to download your chosen font to the computer. The font is usually compressed in a ZIP file.
-
5
Locate the font ZIP file that you downloaded from the font website. The default download location on most computers is usually the "Downloads" folder, which you can access from the "Start" menu.
-
6
Right-click the font ZIP file and select "Extract All" from the drop-down menu. This "unzips" the compressed file to release the font files that you need to install.
-
7
Right-click on the unzipped font file and choose "Install" from the drop-down menu. This installs the font on your computer, and it will now be available to Microsoft Word and other programs.
