Blending candles allows you to recycle your used candles.

Blending your candlesticks is an effective way to recycle small candle ends that are no longer able to be burned. Blending candles is also used to change the color of the candles by merging two colors into one. Instructions

    • 1

Place the candles to be blended into the pot. Break up the candles if necessary. Place the pot on the stove at medium heat. Allow the candles to completely melt. Turn the stove down to its lowest setting.

    • 2

Scoop out any pieces of wick from the liquid wax and discard them. Stir the wax. Add any additional liquid candle scents to the mixture at this point.

    • 3

Remove the lids off any jars or molds to be used. Place them on the stove beside the wax. Scoop the blended wax into the container, fill the jar to three quarters full and the candle mold to the top.

    • 4

Cut off a piece of wick that is long enough to reach the bottom of the candle wax in the container and exit the top of the jar or mold. Wait for the wax to cool for two minutes. Place the wick into the center of the container and ensure it reaches straight down to the bottom. Gently bend the end of the wick and rest it against the lip of the container, ensuring that the wick is still upright and centered in the wax.

    • 5

Allow the wax to cool and harden. Cut the wick half of an inch above the surface of the wax.

Tips & Warnings

  • Wax is flammable, never leave hot wax on the stove unattended.
