How to Add Feeds to Twitter

Twitter is the popular site that allows you to update your followers in status updates of up to 140 characters. These updates are like mini-blog posts and are called "tweets." You can manually update your Twitter account through the Web interface or on your mobile phone. If you have a blog or another external site that has an RSS feed, you can also add these feeds to your Twitter account to automatically update your Twitter status each time you post.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Register Now" button on the Twitterfeed.com homepage and follow the on-screen instructions to register for a new account.

    • 2

Click the "Create New Feed" button from your Twitterfeed dashboard.

    • 3

Type a memorable name for your feed in the "Feed Name" field. Name it anything that will help you remember what it is in your Twitterfeed dashboard; only you will see this name.

    • 4

Paste the URL of your RSS feed into the "Blog URL or RSS Feed URL" field. To ensure that you've entered the correct URL, click the beige "Test Feed URL" button next to this field. Click the "Continue to Step 2" button once you've added the RSS feed URL correctly.

    • 5

Click the "Twitter" link on the next page, then click the large blue "Authenticate Twitter" button. Follow the on-screen instructions to allow Twitterfeed to post your feed to your Twitter account.

    • 6

Click the "Create Service" button, then click "All Done!" Twitterfeed will begin posting links to your feed on your Twitter each time your RSS feed updates with new content.

Tips & Warnings

  • Click the "Advanced Settings" tab in the "Create New Feed" dashboard to customize the way your feed posts onto your Twitter. You might want to add a prefix such as "News:" or "New Blog Post:" in this section to identify the source of your feed posts to your Twitter followers.

  • You can add as many feeds as you'd like to your Twitter account by repeating these steps for each feed.
