How to Measure a Child's Insole
Measuring an insole can be tricky if you do not know what to measure. Measuring a child's insole can be even trickier because children love to wiggle and can't seem to stay still sometimes. To measure an adult's insole, one only needs to measure the actual insole of their most comfortably fitting shoe. A child's insole is best measured using the child's foot instead of a shoe because children's feet grow so fast.

1
Lay the paper flat on the floor. Wood or tile is ideal for measuring insoles since they are hard and smooth surfaces. Carpet's texture may cause a false measurement.
-
2
Have the child stand on the piece of paper with bare feet.

-
3
Use a pen or marker to mark just in front of the toes and just behind the heel of one of their feet.
-
4
Use the same method to measure the other foot. It is best to measure both feet in case one foot has a different measurement.
-
5
Use the measuring tape to count the centimeters in between the two lines for each foot. These measurements are the child's insoles.

Tips & Warnings
Add a couple of centimeters to your final measurement to give the child's foot a little room to grow.
Measure both of the child's insoles to find the most accurate measurement. Sometimes children's feet have different insole sizes.
