How to Change From a POP3 to Imap With GoDaddy
When changing email accounts sometimes it may be necessary to change from a "POP3" email account to an "IMAP" email account. If you are using GoDaddy's email hosting account, make specific changes to receive and send email properly. To setup up your IMAP email with GoDaddy, you need an active GoDaddy account and the names of your incoming and outgoing GoDaddy servers to set up the email with a client.

Open your web browser.

Enter "email.secureserver.net" into your Web browser address bar.

Enter your log in credentials into the Web-based email service.

Click on the "Log In" button.

Click on the "Help" menu located at the top of your screen.

Click on "Email Client Settings".

Write down your incoming and outgoing server settings to use later. Ensure to write down your incoming and outgoing mail service information as well.

Open your email client and navigate to the IMAP settings.

Enter the "Incoming IMAP server" information you wrote down earlier.

Enter the "Outgoing SMTP server" information you wrote down.

Enter "143" into the "Incoming Port" field if you are using your email service without secure socket layers. Enter "993" into the "Incoming Port" field if you are using SSL.

Enter one of the following numbers: "25, 80, 3535, or 587" into the "Outgoing Port" field if you are using your email service without SSL. Enter "465" into the "Incoming Port" field if you are using SSL.

Save your settings within your email client.
