How to Open a HSBC Account Online

Opening an HSBC account online takes only a few minutes and with its online services you can track payments, make payments and check your balances.

Access the HSBC Online Deposit Application website. Click on the "Start Application" for new customers to open an HSBC account.

Select the 'I would like to start a new application' bullet and press "Next Step."

Select all the programs you would like to register for. HSBC offers money market, certificates of deposit, basic banking and checking.

Complete the personal information portions of the form while clicking on "Next Step" to continue. You will need to complete the "Tell Us About Yourself," "Confirm Your Identity" and "Complete Signature Card" before being able to fund your account. At any time you can click the "Save & Return Later" button in the top-right corner of the application form to save and finish at another time.

Set up a user name and password to access your online account. Click the "Next Step" button to continue to the "Fund Your Account" section.

Fund your account by entering your banking institution name, routing number and account number of an existing checking account. Click "Complete" after you finish to complete the online application process.
