It is important to realize that if a spouse has brought up the topic of divorce, they have probably been thinking about it for a long time and have a solid mind set regarding their decision. That being said, a marriage is made up of two individuals and it is important to recognize and respect the emotions of both parties during the process. If adultery has occurred this process might be difficult and communication strained.
