How to Do Freckles for Halloween

If you don't have natural freckles, make your own with a little makeup.

Knowing how to create freckles with makeup, you can put the final touches on these costumes and many others. Freckles add a fresh face to a cheerleader costume, cheerful cheeks to Raggedy Ann and an authentic finish to a Harry Potter outfit.

Things You'll Need

• Mild soap
• Towel
• Facial moisturizer
• Makeup sponge
• Cream blush
• Brown eyebrow pencil

Instructions

1. Wash the face thoroughly with a mild soap to remove any oil.

2. Pat the skin dry with a clean towel.

3. Apply a thin layer of moisturizer to the entire face and allow it to absorb into the skin.

4. Dab cream blush to the apples of the cheeks and use a makeup sponge to blend it into the surrounding skin.

5. Use the eyebrow pencil to dot freckles on to the apples of the cheeks and bridge of the nose.

Tips & Warnings

• For exaggerated or cartoon-like freckles, use a very dark eyebrow pencil.

• For small freckles, sharpen the eyebrow pencil to a fine point. For a dappled freckle effect, smooth the tip of the pencil into a rounded point.
