How to Make Your Own Facial Astringent Like Sea Breeze
Sea Breeze is a eucalyptus-scented facial astringent that has been cleansing women's faces for years. However, if you don't care for the chemicals and alcohol in commercial Sea Breeze, mimic the product at home by making your own astringent. Use a few natural, simple ingredients to make your own facial toner that will often have results similar to the store-bought astringent. Sea Breeze contains alcohol, which can be drying, and witch hazel can be more soothing to facial skin. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Bottle with a lid
- 6 tbsp. distilled water
- 2 tbsp. witch hazel
- Eucalyptus or tea tree oil
- 6 tbsp. rose water
Instructions

1
Combine the distilled water and witch hazel in a clean container. The witch hazel has the same cleaning properties as the alcohol does in Sea Breeze, but will be gentler on the skin.
-
2
Choose a scent for your facial toner. Eucalyptus will smell like Sea Breeze, but tea tree oil works well for skin and rose water smells good and is a little less harsh if your skin is sensitive.
-
-
3
Add the scent you have chosen. For the eucalyptus oil and tea tree oil, only use a few drops.
-
4
Place the lid on your container and shake to combine all the ingredients.
-
5
Store your homemade Sea Breeze toner in the refrigerator, where it will stay good for up to six months.
