The TI-89 scientific graphing calculator, manufactured by Texas Instruments, provides users with the ease of calculating mathematical equations of all levels with a few pushes of a button. However, learning all the different functions and keys on the TI-89 can be overwhelming and it can make entering simple equations seem like rocket science. Knowing what function to push, converting fractions to decimals can take only a few seconds.
Things You'll Need
- TI-89 calculator
Press the "Function" key on your Ti-89 Calculator located on the top-left corner of your device.
Enter the fraction within the first parenthesis. For example, if you are trying to convert 1/4 into decimals, you would enter: exact(1/4). Remember to close your parentheses at the end of the formula.
Press the "Enter" key on your calculator to finish the conversion in decimals. If you entered "exact(1/4)," your answer should come out with .25.
