How to Import Excel Sales Figures to QuickBooks Pro

QuickBooks Pro is a business accounting software developed and marketed by Intuit. You can import your sales figures from an Excel file into QuickBooks using "Intuit Interchange Format" (IIF) files. These files can be imported readily into your QuickBooks Pro software. Note that you will need administrative rights to perform an import.

      Log in to your computer using administrative rights.

      Open the Excel spreadsheet containing the sales figures you would like to import. Click the "File" tab, and then choose "Save as..."

      Click the "Save as type" drop-down menu, and then choose "Tab delimited text." Type a file name followed by the ".iif" file extension. Choose the destination where you would like to save the file.

      Launch QuickBooks Pro software from the "Start" menu.

      Click the "File" menu. Choose "Utilities" from the context menu.

      Select "Import," and then choose "IIF files."

      Browse to navigate to the .iif file you just created. Single-click the file, and then click "Import" to finish the task.
