You can print an Excel 2007 spreadsheet even with protection enabled.

You can use regular print commands in Excel 2007 to print a protected spreadsheet file. A protected worksheet can be formatted to prevent users from altering a variety of spreadsheet features. For example, protection may prevent a user from altering the content of individual cells or of any cells on the worksheet. Protection can also prevent a user from inserting new columns or rows, or changing formats on a worksheet. Protecting a worksheet will not inhibit printing.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the Office button in the upper left corner of Excel 2007 to open a list of options.

    • 2

Move your mouse over "Print" to open additional options for printing the worksheet and click "Print" in the options list.

    • 3

Click "OK" in the print box to print your file to the default printer. You can select an alternative printer from the pull-down list in the "Name" field.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard to print an image of your worksheet, if the normal print commands in Excel 2007 are not working.
