How to Tell if There Is Google Chat on a Phone
Google Talk is Google's chat application found not only online, but also on most Android phones nowadays. However, Google Talk can also be downloaded manually as an app on most smartphones, as well. If you are looking for a way to find out if Google Talk is installed on your phone already, you can do so by checking the applications list on your device.

Press the "Menu" button on your smartphone and select the "Settings" option.

Navigate to the "Applications" tab and select it. Select the option "Manage applications" to bring up the list of applications installed on your phone.

Select the option "All" to display all of the applications that are installed on your phone.

Navigate through the listing until you reach "Google Talk" or "Talk." If you do not see this option, then you do not have Google's chat application installed on your phone.

Return to the main menu and navigate through your application list to locate and launch the Google Talk application.

If you do not have the Google chat application installed on your phone, you may be able to download it by using the marketplace application on your device. Search for "Google Talk."
