Instructions

    • 1

Contact your local cable, television or satellite provider and request to subscribe to a DSL service, if you haven't already. There are different connection plans, each with a different range of speed. If you play online games and movies you want the faster speed available as it requires additional bandwidth.

Connect the first Ethernet cable into the Ethernet wall jack in your home. If you are in an older home a telephone-to-Ethernet adapter is plugged into one of the telephone jacks by the installation technician.

    • 3

Attach the opposite end of the cable into the "WAN" port on the DSL high-speed modem.

    • 4

Connect the second Ethernet cable into one of the "Out" ports on the mode, then attach the free end into the "WAN" port on your computer.

    • 5

Push the power button on the modem to turn it on, then open the Internet browser on the computer. Type in the HTTP address listed on the bottom of the modem to bring up the device's activation page. Type in any desired username and password, if you want a password on your Internet connection (this is not required, as other individuals can't access your Internet, unless they connect directly to the modem). Choose "Save" to activate and turn on the DSL modem.
