How to Do a Map Search
Online maps can guide you to places you've never been before or shed light on an area you have been before via an aerial view. Many online map websites exist solely for the purpose of providing maps, and often offer step-by-step directions to and from a destination. Online maps are not infallible, so use caution when relying on them.

Navigate to an online map website.
-
2
Type the address of your current location in the box marked "A," or "Starting Location" or "Search For."

-
3
Enter your desired destination in the box marked "B," or "Ending Location," if you want directions to a location. You may have to click an extra option that says "Get Directions," depending on the site you use.
-
4
Press "Go" or "Enter" after entering the address information. The website will generate a map and directions.
-
5
View the map. If it is not the map you wanted, review the address information and correct it, if necessary. You may be able to click and drag on the screen to move the view of the map and see what is around the area in question.
