How to Make Rhinestone Button Rings
Oversized rings are a colorful and attractive accent for many fashion outfits. While buying new rings for every wardrobe change would be an expensive practice, you can create your own large rings for a fraction of the cost. Use ring bases and oversize buttons together to make your own fashion statement. Glitz up an evening outfit and make a shiny splash by using a large rhinestone button as the central piece in your next jewelry making project.

1
Use a shank cutter to remove the shank from the back of your buttons. The shank is the piece that sticks out the back and has a thread hole through it.
-
2
Place your rhinestone button upside down on a paper covered in old newspapers. Squeeze a small amount of epoxy or glue onto the tip of a toothpick.

3
Smooth the epoxy over the back of the button, covering an area about the size of the top of the ring base. Use a solid coating of the epoxy, but not so much that globs of it will ooze out the sides when the ring base is attached.
-
4
Push the ring base onto the epoxy in the center of the back of the button. Push down on the base to make sure there are no air bubbles between the ring and the button.
-
5
Allow the ring and button to dry for at least 12 hours. The glue should be set after that and your ring will be ready to wear.
