How to Saute Figs
Figs are high in calcium, iron and fiber. Figs are prepared using a variety of cooking methods such as baking, poaching or sauteing. Rinse the fresh figs under cool running water. Pat the figs dry with paper towels. Slice the figs in half from the top to the bottom.

Melt 1 tbsp. of unsalted butter into a sauté pan.

Place the cut side of the figs into the pan once the butter melts. Place the saute pan over medium heat.

Saute the figs until they are brown and caramelized. The figs may blister slightly when you saute them.

Tips & Warnings
Store any leftover raw figs in the refrigerator for two to three days.
Add 1 tbsp. of honey or sweet wine to the sauteed figs to add a sweet flavor.
Saute sliced garlic or spinach with the figs to create a healthy side dish.
Always wash figs to remove excess dirt and debris to prevent contaminating the flesh.
