How to Thaw Fully Cooked Frozen Crab Legs
Alaskan King crabs are prized for the succulent white flesh that's found in their massive spindly legs. Blue, golden and red crabs are the three varieties of King crabs commonly caught in the frigid waters off the coast of Alaska. These crabs are caught in large metal pots and while it's possible to find live crab that's been flown-in to specialty restaurants, most crab legs found in supermarkets are cooked and frozen. Put the colander in the pot. Remove the crab legs from the packaging. Separate crab legs that are frozen together.

Place crab legs into the colander. Put the pot into the fridge.

Let the crab legs thaw in the fridge for a minimum of eight hours, preferably overnight.
Quick Method

Place a colander in the bottom of your kitchen sink.

Take the crab legs out of the packaging and put them in the colander.

Run cold water over the crab legs for 10 to 15 minutes or until crab feels softer to the touch and all the ice has melted.

Tips & Warnings
Since frozen crab legs are cooked, they only need to be reheated.
Seafood needs to be kept cold to discourage bacteria growth. Do not thaw crab legs at room temperature.
