At intermittent times, Twitter is known to experience issues with its service. The problems experienced by users range from not being able to post tweets to not being able to access the service at all. When users try to post tweets and their updates don't go through right away, they'll sometimes click the "Tweet" button once, twice or several more times. When the tweet finally does go through, it shows up multiple times. You can learn how to avoid duplicate Twitter posts in just a few steps.
Click the "Tweet" button one time. Resist the urge to click the button several times in a row if the site is unresponsive.
Press the "Reload" button on your browser and check your home feed. If you see new tweets and yours is not among them, type your tweet out and try to submit it again.
Try signing out and signing back in to your Twitter account if the rest of the site seems responsive but your tweets won't go through.
Tips & Warnings
- If you notice that you've posted a duplicate Twitter post, you can delete duplicates by clicking the "Profile" link at the top of the page, hovering over the update you want to delete and clicking the "Delete" link.
