How to Measure Four Ounces of Meat

Place an empty bowl on the food scale. Tare or "zero out" the weight of the bowl to ensure that you measure only the meat and not the bowl. Turn the dial back until the needle points to the zero mark, to tare the scale.

Set the meat in the bowl. Observe the weight on the scale. Add or remove the meat until the needle points to the 4 oz. mark on the scale.

Remove the 4 oz. of meat from the cup and use it according to your cooking requirements. Take the cup out of the scale and reset it to the zero mark. This will ensure the accuracy of your food measurements.

Tips & Warnings
Four oz. of raw meat will weigh around 3 oz after preparation. This is because meat reduces to 25 percent of its size once cooked.
