How to Change Answering Options on a Verizon LG Phone

It is possible to change the answering options on a Verizon LG cell phone. When you receive an incoming call, you may wish for the phone to automatically answer the call, or you may want to have the extra security of having to push an extra button—pushing an extra button ensures that you won’t accidentally answer a call you don’t want to. If you have a flip phone, you can also select the setting that allows you to answer a call simply by flipping the phone open.

Open the phone and click the “Menu” button.

The center keypad above the numerical keys can click up, down, left and right. Click right until you see the “Settings & Tools” option.

Click “Call Settings.”

Click “Answer Options.”

Select the type of answering option you would like. Depending on the model of your phone, these options may vary. Generally, you can select from “Flip Open,” which answer the call as soon as the phone is opened, “Any Key,” which answers the call when any key is pressed, “Send Only,” which answers the call only when the Send key is pressed and “Auto Answer,” which answers the call as soon as it comes in.

Click "OK."
