Making a pizza at home is a lot easier than you might think

Buying take-away pizza can be very expensive, especially when you can make thin crust pizzas at home, from fresh ingredients in less than half an hour. The ingredients for the dough are available at any grocery store and, you can choose what toppings you want. This recipe is enough for a 12-inch pizza base, but it can be adjusted for whatever size you want or the capacity of the oven. Does this Spark an idea?

  • 1 packet dry yeast
  • ¼ teaspoon white sugar
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 ¾ cups plain flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

      Put the yeast, sugar and water in a bowl and mix. Let stand for five to 10 minutes so the yeast can activate.

      Mix the salt and flour together and put in the food processor.

      Pour the water, yeast and sugar mixture into the processor and blend for about 30 seconds until it turns into a neat ball.

      Knead the dough on a floured surface for 3 minutes.

      Roll the dough out by hand until it is the correct shape and the appropriate thickness.

      Add tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and other toppings.

      Place in a preheated oven at 500 degrees Fahrenheit and leave to cook for eight to 12 minutes. Fan assisted ovens will be faster.

      Remove from oven, allow to cool, slice and eat.
