How to Design Business Cards & Fliers
Even in the modern high tech world, business cards and fliers can still be an effective way to promote your business. Although many new businesses hire a graphics designer to design their business card and fliers to promote the products or services offered, many business owners can design their own promotional materials for a smaller cost.

1
Brainstorm ideas that would be most appropriate for your type of business. For example, if you are providing a home nursing service to seniors, place an image of one or more of your staff on the fliers or card. Include information on the type of services you provide, accreditation and contact details.
-
2
Take photos of your business or employees or customers. Have employees or customers who participate, through the use of their images in your promotional materials, sign a contact (or release) with the specifics of any extra payment they might receive.

3
Create a layout of your business card or flier. You can create a layout for a business card flier by taping to a sheet of paper one or more images that you want to use. For example, use a larger (but proportional to standard business card dimensions of 3.5 x 2 inches) piece of paper to assemble a photograph of yourself or other image, along with other text like a tag line for your business. Place your business' name in the center and your contact details in the opposite corner from your photo.

4
Scan in your layout to your computer. Save your design on a CD.
-
5
Take the CD to a print shop that can print out your fliers and/or business cards for you in bulk.
