How to Insert Action Buttons in PowerPoint
PowerPoint has a feature that helps a presenter or operator quickly navigate to other places in a presentation through the use of action buttons placed on a slide. Action buttons also open another presentation entirely, open a document in another application or link to an external website. This makes for simplicity in navigation and helps keep the flow of the presentation. The linking action of the buttons make a PowerPoint presentation behave much like a website.

Click the slide on which you want to insert an action button. Decide where you want the button to reside on the slide. This may add an additional design decision to your project. The bottom corners of the slide are logical places for action buttons such as "Previous" or "Next," but it depends upon the other content on the slide.
