How to Make a Paper Bridal Bouquet
A bouquet is an important aspect of any wedding, especially to the bride. Many brides like to save their bouquets, but they do not always dry well and sometimes become more messy than pretty. One way to know that your bouquet will stay fresh forever is by making a paper bouquet. Using some things you may already have on hand, you can make a beautiful rose bridal bouquet. Coffee filter roses are inexpensive to make and will make it possible to keep your bridal bouquet for a long time.
Things You'll Need
- Cone coffee filters
- Scissors
- Floral wire
- Wire snips
- Floral tape
- Paints
- Paintbrushes

Cut petal shapes out of the coffee filters. Use three different size petals to form the roses. Cut out three small, five medium and 7 large petals for each rose.

Use the wire snips to cut out one length of wire for each stem. Cut the stem to your desired length.

Overlap the base edges of the three small petals and insert the floral wire to hold them together. Spread out the petals and form them to look like a rosebud. Use the floral tape to secure the base of the petals in place.

Add the seven large petals in the same way.

Paint the roses by using watered down acrylic or thinned out water colors paint. Paint the whole petal one color, such as a light pink and allow it to dry.

Add dimension to your color by painting on a deeper shade along the edges of the petals. Allow the paint to dry.

Curl the very edges of the petals by rolling them around the handle of your paintbrush to make them look more like real petals.

Make more roses as desired.

Combine all your roses into a bouquet. Wrap floral wire around the entire bunch of "stems."

Tips & Warnings
You can always add more rows of petals if you wish. Add two rows of each size or make even larger petals to add to the outside of the rose.
Making these flowers can take a little practice, especially when painting and curling. Start with a few roses and work to perfect the look.
Paint the coffee filter petals before assembling them. Paint both sides with your base color and the put the roses together. Paint on the deeper edge color after the flowers are assembled.
