How to Get Your Raw Score for the ASVAB
The ASVAG or AFQT is a test given out by the branches of the military. It is designed to find the capabilities of prospective military men and help assign them to specific jobs. The "raw" score of the ASVAB is the basic average of how well you did on your test. There is no single score printed out on your results. Instead, you must calculate the raw score on your own. This uses a simple formula that won't take more than a few minutes or more to figure out.
Instructions
-
-
1
Find the AR score on your ASVAB test and write it down. The AR score stands for arithmetic reasoning. This score is based on how well you did on arithmetic word problems.
-
2
Find your MK score and write it down underneath the AR score. The MK score stands for mathematical knowledge. It tests your abilities in geometry, algebra, trigonometry and other math principles.
-
-
3
Add these two scores together. Write the sum of these scores to the side.
-
4
Find the VE score on your ASVAB test. VE stands for verbal ability. This result is based on how well you did on the PC and WK tests. These stand for paragraph comprehension and word knowledge. The ASVAB scorers add these results up and convert them to your VE score.
-
5
Multiple your VE score by two. Add this result to the sum of adding MK and AR together. This is your ASVAB raw score.
