You can turn ordinary white bread into Play Dough.

You can create a non-toxic homemade clay that resembles Play Dough with just a few ingredients that are commonly found in the home. Bread dough is so easy to make that it is a great craft for young children. Bread dough is non-toxic, but should not be consumed. When the little artist is done creating crafts from the bread dough, put the projects aside to air dry. Dried bread dough can be painted, and it can be glued to a variety of objects.

  • White bread
  • Knife
  • Small bowl
  • Non-toxic white school glue
  • Fork
  • Food Coloring

Instructions

      Lay the bread on a flat surface and cut away the crusts.

      Tear the bread into small pieces and place in a bowl

      Add some white school glue to the bread. The ratio of bread to glue is one slice: one tablespoon. If you use two slices of bread, add two tablespoons of white school glue.

      Mix the bead and glue together with a fork. Press down on the bread and glue to help blend the ingredients. Continue mixing until a dough forms.

      Add a few drops of food coloring to the dough and knead it. Once the bread dough is the desired color, mold it into shapes.

  • Air dry all bread dough creations.

  • If your dough is too wet, add an additional slice of bread.
