Capture stars in a circle using Microsoft Publisher.

The next time you're seeing stars, share them by adding them into a publication. With the aid of Microsoft Publisher's quick-start templates and available shapes, you're able to make a circle of stars to adorn just about any kind of document. Add circles of stars to Publisher's newsletters, business cards and labels or start from scratch and create a star-encircled family crest, bumper sticker or other publication.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Publisher. Click one of the template buttons such as "Brochures" and choose a preset template design or click the "Blank 8.5-by-11" button in the top-left of the "Available Templates" screen. The Publisher workspace adjusts to the new document.

    • 2

Click the "Insert" tab at the top of the work area. Click the "Shapes" button on the ribbon below the tab.

    • 3

Select the "Star" icon. Note the cursor changes to a plus sign. Click the Publisher workspace, hold down the left mouse button and drag to form the shape of the first star. Release the left mouse button.

    • 4

Click options in the new orange "Drawing Tools" tab at the top of the workspace to fill in the star with color under the "Shape Fill" button or to give the star a colored outline under the "Shape Styles" section.

    • 5

Right-click the star and select "Copy". Right-click anywhere on the Publisher document and select "Paste". The second star pastes in. Drag it slightly down and to the right or left of the first star, forming the beginning arc of the circle.

    • 6

Use the "Drawing Tools" tab to make any changes to the new star, such as changing its color or outline.

    • 7

Right-click the Publisher document and select "Paste". Another copy of the star pastes in. Continue to paste in the stars, change their appearance and drag them to form the rest of the circle.
