How to Make Website Thumbnails
Website thumbnails allow users to preview larger images or other downloadable content. Nearly all image-editing programs are capable of generating website thumbnails. Use your preferred image-editing program to create a website thumbnail in as little as 10 minutes.

1
Open your preferred image-editing program. Load the file containing the image you want to turn into a thumbnail.

2
Use the program's image size adjusting feature to resize the image. Most website thumbnails are 100-by-100 pixels. Use "constrain proportions," if available, to avoid distorting the image.

Select "Save As" to save the image to your computer. Enter a name for the thumbnail that differentiates it from the main image and save it as a "jpeg" file. Repeat the procedure for other images you want to create thumbnails of.

Tips & Warnings
Some image-editing programs allow the user to create website thumbnails in predetermined batches, instead of creating them one by one. Consult the instruction manual for your image editing-program for more information.
