How to Disable a T-Mobile 3G Network on a Highlight Phone
The Samsung Highlight supports the T-Mobile third generation (3G) network. Another name for this network is EDGE, or Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution. With 3G, you can download photos, attend voice conferences, watch videos and Web surf at broadband speeds. Unfortunately, it can be costly on your monthly plan, increasing your Internet usage. Disabling the 3G network can help you save money.

Access your phone's main menu. Navigate to your mobile browser and launch it.

Navigate to the T-Mobile website. Sign in with your username and password.

Click on the option for "Disable EDGE/3G" once you see it on the screen.

Select "Install" and "Install Now." This application will remove EDGE/3G from your phone. Once removed, the mobile browser will display this message: "Could not activate cellular data."

Click "Settings" and "General."

Choose "Usage." This will contain your Internet usage information. It should not increase.
