How to Donate Women's Clothes to Charity
Donating women's clothes to charity can be a great way to give back to your local community while clearing some space in your closet. There are numerous charitable organizations around the country that are in need of donations of all types of clothing throughout the year, and your donations can help to meet that need. Luckily, the process of donating is relatively simple and only requires a little time and effort.

1
Choose an organization to donate to. Some organizations that accept used women's clothing include Goodwill, which has over 2,500 Donation Stations across the country; Dress for Success; Women's Alliance and The Princess Project, which gives gently worn formal dresses and gowns to young women who would otherwise not be able to afford them.
-
2
Visit the organization's website, or call the organization, to find locations near you and to learn the policies for donating used clothing.
-
-
3
Sort through your dresser drawers and closet to determine what items you would like to keep and what items you would like to donate. Create one "Keep" pile and one "Donate" pile.
-
4
Clean the clothes that you wish to donate, if they are not already clean. For some organizations, this may require dry-cleaning the clothes before you donate them.
-
5
Place the clothes that you wish to donate into a trash bag or on hangers.
-
6
Drive to the chosen location and either hand your bags or dry-cleaned garments to the clerk or put them into the donation container. If the organization has a pick-up service, call to schedule a pick-up time.
